‘Netradaan’ poem was written 20 years back in 1996 by my father, retd. production manager, Hindalco Sri V. P. Srivastava ‘Bekhud’.
Today I get a chance to record it with Sri Jayesh Asher. It is very disheartening that though we are fast becoming worlds’ largest populated country, we still are much lagging behind in treatment of blindness due to lack of eye donation. A small country like Sri Lanka had overcome this hurdle and no one suffers blindness due to lack of cornea. In fact they even export cornea. My heart goes out to people who could see if there was no waiting list for cornea. I hope this song will create some awareness and evoke emotions in people to think about the sufferings of blind people and pledge their eyes……
