The most important insight gained is that once a teacher decides to come into this profession he or she has to be a life long learner. A teacher affects thousands of students during the career of 3 to 4 decades and if she is not equipped to face the challenge of generation gap she will have a very negative impact on the students whom she teaches. She shapes lives by her teachings. The students look up to the teacher but if the teacher doesn’t meet their expectations they reject her. Today students do not expect only dissemination of knowledge from their teacher but they look for a relationship that will help them gain insights into their unanswered questions that they might not get from their parents or from the vast amount of it available on the internet.
So what can a teacher do about it?
